[AIS] Raceweek emergency!

There is a fairly large conference room in the basement of the Bayfield Inn. I think it might be large enough for our needs. Morties and Bates would need to be worked out with Mary Rice's organization. I am not sure if either of them still have a liquor license due to expiration if they are not renewed and or used. The tent concept might work, other groups have used the park for socials like Apostle Islands Marina and the fire department. Another option might be to ask the Pier if they would shut down for a private party, they have been doing the food and have a liquor license. Actually, the Bayfield Inn has closed down the restaurant many times this summer for private parties, so they might also be an option.

Well, I don't know how to break this.

Bayfield Pavillion was given the wrong dates for raceweek and now is unavailable for Thursday and Friday night.

I was told the pavillion was booked so I didn't follow up on this and only checked because I got nervous about it. It wouldn't have mattered anyway since those dates were tied up over two months ago. I've reserved July 4 - July 7 and 2005 (July 3-July 8) but that doesn't help us with the immediate problem.

Bayfield is really apologetic about it and want us to know that they REALLY DO support raceweek. They documented that they were told to hold the previous week (which they have been doing) and were supposed to get a followup to confirm (which they haven't gotten).

The immediate problem is coming up with a venue for either the entire week or at the minimum for Thursday and Friday. We need to act on this soon.

Here are potentials;

We can make Thursday the Pike's Bay event (in other words there is even more urgency to make this one). This leaves us with needing a location for the banquet. As I see it these are the options:

- Port Superior (Not the best)
- Morty's (too small probably)
- Bate's (also probably too small)
- A tent off Manypenny or park (liquor issues? We could save money and use it for the entire week, rent/borrow a trailer to secure things)
- Apostle Islands Yacht Club (probably wouldn't go for it).

None of the options are optimal but it's what we are stuck with.

If anyone else has an idea please let me know ASAP!!!!! We need to reserve a spot IMMEDIATELY!!!!
