Saturday,
What the heck are those boat doing in the bay?
THEY ARE MATCH RACING!
WYC is hosting the Richardson Cup Qualifier for Lake Superior
Yachting Association (LSYA). This means that the winner of this
event represents LSYA at the Richardson's Cup In Detroit This fall.
This is America's Cup Sailing on Small boats. After you are done
with you J22 or big Island race come out and spectate. The best
place to be is a 20 feet from ether end of the starting line with an
anchor. The boat being chased may use you as a pick boat. If you
come out to watch and are not at anchor read up on the "Rues of the
Road" and stay off to the sides and to leward of the two boats racing.
If you would like to get involved with match racing just show up
Wednesday nights At WYC. If you have questions ask Seanman or Email
Dan at McNamara@ Visi.com.
Match racing is the best sailing to spectate, that is why it is the
only sailing on TV. So after you are done racing Saturday, come out
to the bay, drop a hook and see the action up close. ( 10 am till we
get 12 races in).
Check It Out! Match racing at WYC!-------------- next part --------------
