SAVE THE DATE 18/19 March - WYC will host a Sea Survival Training class on the weekend of March 18/19th.  The class will follow the WORLD SAILING OFFSHORE PERSONAL SURVIVAL COURSE curriculum, including; Principles of Survival, Personal Equipment, Preparation, Abandon Ship procedures (including practical session on the pool), use of pyrotechnics, fire fighting, radio procedures, and more.  

Registration details are being finalized, and will be posted in the next couple of days. Cost will be around $400 per person and will include all class materials including the latest RYA Sea Sea Survival Book, time in a local swimming pool, and light refreshments. This class will teach you the essential skills to keep you, your crew mates, and the boat safe as you sail on the Great Lakes and beyond. Eric Hill the instructor is crew on a Royal Canada Air Force Rescue Helicopter. He is also a yacht racer and has both personal and professional experience to share with us.
