They are working on an Olympic campaign competing in the 49er class. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>The two accomplished great results in January and February with outstanding performances at the Midwinters, the World Cup and NA Championships. Their effort in the first few months has qualified them as one of two teams on <b>US Sailing Team Sperry</b>. A strong performance in qualifiers secures your position in the top group of the fleet and qualifies you for the next World Cup regatta. There is no time to settle in and get used to the racing or the fleet. Days 1 and 2 are the most important of the regatta. We are focusing on prestart boat handling and accelerations, and the decision making and execution at marks. Starting next week we have an eight day training camp with Rick Peacock, a past british 49er sailor, and our US training partners. Lake Garda is the perfect place to take advantage of this. Strong Northerlies from 6am to 10am dieing out to be replaced by Southerlies in the afternoon allow for double sessions to make the most out of valuable coaching time.
