[Capri25]Notification of Special Fleet Meeting April 23, 7:00 pm at the Wayzata Yacht Club

There will be special meeting to be held at the Wayzata Yacht Club on
April 23 at 7:00 pm.

The purpose of this meeting is to cast votes on four issues:

1)  WYC Capri 25 fleet to be known as Capri 25 Fleet #1. 

2)   The WYC Capri 25 fleet will host a Capri 25 regatta during the 2004
season. This regatta will be submitted to the National Capri 25
Association as an option for a National Regatta. (The regatta will be
held, even if it does not assume the National Championship status).

3)   Expand the fleet officers to include the following positions

Secretary/Treasure
Awards/Recruiting
Crew Representative (2)

4) Amend the Class Rules to include the following restrictions on
competition with a "Professional Sailor" onboard.

"Professional Sailor" - Any crew member that qualifies as a "Group US2
Competitor" or a "Group US3 Competitor", as defined by US Sailing.

Each boat in the fleet is allowed to compete in one race per season with
a "Professional Sailor" onboard. Each subsequent race, during the
season, which includes a "Professional Sailor" onboard will have the
finish adjusted down four positions. It is the responsibility of the
competing boat to notify the fleet captain or member of the rules
committee, before the beginning of the race, of their intent to compete
with a "Professional Sailor" onboard. Failure to make this notification
can result in an official protest that if lost, would include an
addition 20% penalty after the four place deduction.

More information concerning these issues is currently posted on the
Capri web site http://www.wyc.org/capri25/newlette.htm. Also, printed
copies of the meeting minutes and official ballot have been mailed to
each boat. Please have a representative attend the meeting with the
ballot.
