Hello,
 
As many of you know, I lost my therapist job suddenly as a Day Treatment Specialist at a middle school. Then Wed. I also lost my appeal at a unemployment hearing that I waited 1.5 months for. This was for 10,000 in back pay since May...oh,well, I still have sailing!
 
I am still planning on going to D.C. as a volunteer advocate/lobbyist from Sept 7-11 for Suicide Prevention. I am meeting Senator Dayton on Thurs. the 8th, as well as other reps from MN. I am the only rep from MN going to this National conference, so wish me luck.

If anyone knows of work I can do, please let me know. I will lose my car next month, which I bought 1 month before I was fired. I cannot afford my rent, and lost a week of work form a fall which I ripped the ligaments in my ankle...still siiled 5 days later! Thanks Capricious!!!!
 
I appreciate all of the support you all have given me. I worked hard to get my Masters in Counseling, passed my Boards, then got fired for going to the Special Education Director because of problems at the school, I was told by the director that he would back me up, but he lied. ...and so goes politics in the school system. 
 
Looking back, there is nothing I could have changed. I will continue to believe in the kids I work with and their families. As long as kids are overmedicated, underserved in the classrooms when diagnosed with mental health issues, and from abusive families, I will fight for their rights, and stand by them. As a suicide prevetion specialist, it is my duty to help them and refer them to the right sources when they cannot do it for themselves.
 
Wish me luck in Washington, and let me know if anyone has any work when I get back. 
 
I do windows...as well as in-home nursing care, babysitting, bad joke telling, and an occasional really bad song with made-up lyrics!
