Hello Temple,


My name is Elli Ansari. I'm a fundraising volunteer for the Wayzata Community Sailing Center. As you may know the WCSC has launched at 2M capital campaign to create a new sailing center to replace the declining building to the north of WYC.

Here's what we are doing:

To launch that larger effort we've started a community crowd funding campaign on Indiegogo which is being matched  by a generous donor up to 100,000.00. One of the criteria of the match is to demonstrate community support for the effort. So, we are reaching out to every bit of every community local, regional, national, sailing folks and landlubbers alike.

Crowd Funding can be successful and meet the criteria--but we need to invite the crowd!  We have giving opportunities  from 10.00 to 2500.00. We are just 1 week into the campaign and with the match grant and additional company matches coming in (not displayed on the site) we have more than doubled our money.

Here's where your fleet can help:

We are asking fleet members to consider a donation, enjoy a perk, and pass it along to anyone and everyone through e-mail and social media for next 37 days.

If you have any suggestions about motivators for the fleets please let me know--
a perk for inter fleet competition or something else. We want to make this fun and memorable.

We believe that the Wayzata Community Sailing Center, created to provide sailing for everyone by the hard work of Wayata Yacht Club members has the ability to be a local and regional icon. We can do this.
