There has been a few questions on what exactly is the “Naughty-Cal” theme. 


Obviously “naughty-cal” is a play on words for nautical. However what the means as a theme is simply this. 


This is the 50 th anniversary at WYC, that being said we are asking boats to simply look back at the last 50 years and find something (an event, a race/regatta, a show/movie, or a personal experience) that you feel best represents the “nautical image”; a true sailor image. 


In the same token, there is nothing more nautical than having a burgee. So we ask that if you won a burgee or have a burgee from somewhere, to display it and be ready to brag about it. Tell your story as you see it. If you don’t have a burgee, look one up online, blow it up and print it, and create your own story. 


You may wish to share this email with your crew so they also have a clear understanding of the theme. 


We want this to be fun and simple for everyone to enjoy. So please invite family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors. We will be putting out quite the spread this year so there is plenty of food for everyone. 


Now if you can’t participate, please encourage your crew to represent your boat at the party. This event is not only important for our fleet, but for the entire yacht club. 

We need a head count to plan for food
