Just a friendly reminder that Doug will be speaking at the clubhouse exactly one week from now. This is a free presentation, made possible by Doug's willingness to share some knowledge about our beloved Capri 25. Topics will include: 1) bluewater mods to his Capri 25, 2) 2014 Transpac race, and 3) 2018 cruising in SE Alaska. All,
I received a lot of "thumbs up" on the prospect of having Doug speak at our club, and I have good news to report. Doug will be at WYC on 6/18 with his boat in tow! No, he's not splashing it...at least that's not the plan. But, he will be giving a slideshow presentation starting at 7pm that day. More details to follow at a later date.

My name is Stuart Paine and I have a Capri 25 that I have owned and modified for the last 20 or so years in San Diego. I use the boat for coastal cruising up and down the California coast, have raced it in the Singlehanded Transpac ,and recently  towed it to and sailed it around SE Alaska. This summer I plan to tow the boat to New Hampshire and sail the boat up the Maine coast to possibly as far as Quebec City.  I am writing because my wife’s family live in and around Wilmar and I will be going through thereto visit on my way east. You guys have more Capri 25’s than anywhere else on Earth. I have been to your club on two occasions but sadly no one was there at the time. I was wondering if you would be interested in having me give a talk about the Transpac, Alaska, the boat and  I have done to make it blu water ready, etc. I will be going through Minnesota during the third week of June. I have given talks to local clubs and have PowerPoint presentations. Let me know if this sounds like something you would like to do, I am good either way.
