<P><FONT COLOR="#000000" SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">The Wayzata Sailing Foundation is seeking an Event Coordinator to plan and execute the 2003 Silent Auction.</FONT>
</P>
<P><FONT COLOR="#000000" SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">The Event Coordinator will be responsible for:</FONT>
<BR><FONT COLOR="#000000" SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">Organizing a committee to complete event tasks</FONT>
<BR><FONT COLOR="#000000" SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">Delegating tasks to committee members</FONT>
<BR><FONT COLOR="#000000" SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">Soliciting Silent Auction Donations from WYC members</FONT>
<BR><FONT COLOR="#000000" SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">Soliciting Silent Auction Donations from Twin Cities merchants</FONT>
<BR><FONT COLOR="#000000" SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">Creating a marketing plan to promote the Silent Auction</FONT>

<P><FONT COLOR="#000000" SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">If you are representing a WYC fleet (i.e. Capri 25, J22, J24, etc.) and the majority of your committee members are in the fleet, 10% of the Silent Auction proceeds will be awarded to that fleet.</FONT></P>
<BR>
<P><FONT COLOR="#000000" SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">Typical tasks:</FONT>
</P>
<P><FONT COLOR="#000000" SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">Create, copy and send letter(s) promoting the auction to all WYC members in the club database.</FONT>
</P>
<P><FONT COLOR="#000000" SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">Subsequent flyers, communications, postcards, etc. continue once a month until the night of the WYC auction - November.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT COLOR="#000000" SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">Solicit donations at the club in person, post flyers, etc.</FONT>
</P>
<P><FONT COLOR="#000000" SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">Contact all former donors by telephone and/or email to solicit donations.</FONT>
</P>
<P><FONT COLOR="#000000" SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">Record all donations in a database assigning them an item number and record application donor information. This is an ongoing process until the night of the auction.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT COLOR="#000000" SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">Create bid sheets and photocopy for the event. This can be done anytime </FONT>
<BR><FONT COLOR="#000000" SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">prior to November.</FONT>
</P>
<P><FONT COLOR="#000000" SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">Work with U of M team to have volunteers ready to work the event. </FONT>
</P>
<P><FONT COLOR="#000000" SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">Have enough tables to accommodate donated items. Sept / November.</FONT>
</P>
<P><FONT COLOR="#000000" SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">Have cashier to work credit card machine only at auction. Oct. / Nov.</FONT>
</P>
<P><FONT COLOR="#000000" SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">Have cashier to handle cash and personal checks. Oct. / Nov.</FONT>
<BR><FONT COLOR="#000000" SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">Work with Steve Bren to obtain a current club database for mailing and a map for the U of M team to locate winning bidders.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT COLOR="#000000" SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">Oct. / Nov. Collect items donated and transport to the auction. This is ongoing up until the day of the banquet.</FONT>
</P>
<P><FONT COLOR="#000000" SIZE=2 FACE="Courier New">Set up auction day of WYC banquet.</FONT>
