In last night's heavy air race, I felt something very strange on the downwind runs. In addition to the typical "hum" that you get at hull speed, I also felt a much lower-frequency (~ 1hz) harmonic vibration. It seemed like it had much more energy than the typical hum - the whole boat shuttered on each oscillation. I really think my keel was "waving" back and forth under all that water pressure. <div>
