I won't be able to make it down to the club tonight.  I know Whoa and
Bandit were planning to sail, so please carry on without me.

I'll even throw out a few things to try:

Jib halyard tension--lay on the bow while sailing close hauled and watch
the slot between the main and the jib while someone else tightens and
loosens the halyard (look all the way to the top of the jib).  I like to
have the slot as open as possible, but still maintain enough luff
tension on the jib to still point.  I'm happiest when there are just
little scallops showing up around the jib hanks.

Jib car track location--trim in to close hauled, then slowly head into
the wind.  The tell tales on the upper and lower half of the luff should
drop at the same time if the cars are in the right position.  If the top
tell tales drop first, move your cars forward.  We check this before
every start.

Main sail leech tell tale at top batten--I find with the MB-1 main that
I like to see that tell tale stalled about 40% of the time.  This seems
counter intuitive, but I feel like the boat is not powered up until I've
got enough leech tension to pull in the top batten.  I don't know how
this would work on other main sails.  The MB-1 is pretty unique in this
respect I think.  Once I've got the leech tension set, I adjust the
traveler to bring the boom to centerline.  Ofcourse, in absolute dead
conditions the weight of the boom is enough to keep the leech tensioned
and you hardly need any mainsheet.  In a blow you're just using the main
to suppliment and balance the jib and add only as much power as the boat
can handle, I don't worry about sail shape at that point.
