[J22-Fleet 1] Keep Clear in Start Box!

Fleet 1,

I've received a couple of complaints about 22's interfering with other
starts.  I don't think this is intentional but we need to be more aware of other
fleets inside their Prep sequence.

As a reminder, the WYC SI's state that if you're inside a box formed by 300 foot
extensions of either end of the line and 300 feet below it, you must keep clear
of boats lining up to start (this is protestable).  This doesn't mean you can't
be in there but you do need to anticipate any moves they may be making.  Also,
you're definition of "keeping clear" and theirs may be somewhat different, and
theirs is what counts here!

Everyone is aware that this is a "good" problem to have in that we have a lot of
boats and good sailors on one course - however, we do need to respect other
fleets be more aware of different speeds and starting tactics.

I did have a long talk with Bert about the SI and size of the box and am open to
any comments or suggestions.  Please respond to me and not the entire listserv.

Thanks -

Thorn
