Greetings:

At the January fleet meeting, the idea of changing how the number of
throw-outs is calculated was brought up for discussion. Strong points were
raised by fleet members in favor of both options (i.e. keep the current WYC
system in place for the fleet OR reduce the number of throw-outs by adopting
the J/24 fleet methodology). This will be presented to the fleet for a vote
in the next four to six weeks.

As a reminder, per the current bylaws
<http://www.wyc.org/page/show/3792364-j-22-fleet-1-bylaws-wyc-lake-minnetonk
a> , the following criteria must be met to be eligible to vote:

Voting Member: Must be a boat owner or charterer as well as member in good
standing. A member in good standing must have current paid memberships in
each of the following entities: US Sailing
<http://www.ussailing.org/membership/> , J/22 USA
<http://www.regattanetwork.com/membermgmt/J22/membership_registration_start.
php> , J22 Fleet #1, and one Fleet # 1 member yacht clubs (WYC or MYC).

This email serves as notice of an upcoming ballot and a reminder for each
potential voting member to review their paid membership standings in each of
these four organizations to ensure their eligibility to vote on the upcoming
ballot. Details regarding the two options and the ballot process and
deadlines will be emailed at a later date.

Thank you,

J/22 Fleet Leadership
