This was accepted. However, we’re waiting for final approval from the yacht club before it is announced. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><b>Technical Report<o:p></o:p></b></p><p class=MsoNormal>Chris recapped that a small working group, led by Chris Doyle and Ron Harris, is re-writing the Class Rules into the required World Sailing format. The first draft is expected this month or next. The Technical Committee and other volunteers will review the draft before presentation to NJCAs for voting (as laid out in the Constitution). As there is a huge amount of formatting in this rewrite process, it is quite time-consuming. The Sails section will be made in line with the Equipment Rules of Sailing. The Velocitek was shut down by some members and is not expected to be permitted in the Rules. There may be a few items that will require a specific vote, but the rest of the re-written Rules can be voted as a whole.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>This FAQ addresses an issue from the 2019 World Championship, which will be made more clear in our new Rules: Is it allowed to have a J/22 mast base plate with holes that are larger than the pins that were delivered with the boat originally or to have a slot instead of holes where the mast base plate pins are inserted? No. The mast plate must have circular holes for the mast base plate pins, and the holes must be no larger than the pin circumference, so that the pins just fit into the mast base plate.
