Dear Randy,

It's never too early to plan your J24 sailing season.  Although the snow is heavy in the Northeast and elsewhere, the J24 Downeast Regatta Committee is racing to make plans for this up coming event.

Again here are some of the highlights of this epic event:

1. Free housing to all away boats (we didn't turn anyone away last year that asked for it - so make sure you ask, if you want it!)
2. Best Competition in the Northeast - top boats in the nation come to compete in this great event with an average of 26 boats over the last seven years. 3 out of the top 4 boats at the 2010 National Championships have extensive experience sailing in Casco Bay (the body of water for the Downeast Regatta)
3. Best Sailing Conditions in the Northeast - 1 1/4 mile legs in flat water with great fall sea breezes or fun backside frontal winds.  Average of over 6 races each year since 2003. Expert race management by regional race officers.
4. Best Party in the Northeast - Full Maine Lobster Bake with clams, potatoes, corn, local micro-brew beer, RUM, live music, dancing and much more - all included in the entry fee for the skipper and crew!
5. Easy to get to - just minutes off I-95 near Portland Maine and 1 hour and 45 minutes from Boston
