While I can understand that this different format might not work for everyone, I will play devil's advocate and say the original format might not always work for everyone either, e.g. families that like to enjoy Sunday dinners together and sober ... I know, I used to have one of those ;-)

As with most things in life, it's impossible to accommodate everyone here. I trust the organizers of the A Series party to have considered the various options as well as possible schedule conflicts within the fleets (e.g. measuring for J24 Nationals that afternoon), and I'd be all for trying out a different format every now and then.

I'm sure the more traditionally-inclined among us can still look forward to B and C Series parties in their usual and renowned formats.
Party on!

Uta

This is all very good and good idea.

I only see one problem.  Some people go to church prior to the race and will either not make it  for the brunch or will arrive late and only have 20 minutes, at best, to partake in the event.

This is why we typically have these events after the race; that way everyone is there and be part of the party.  So perhaps a luncheon might be best.

Just a thought you may wish to consider.

J22 and J24 Fleets,

The A-Series Party is scheduled for Sunday, June 16th and the J/22 and J/24 fleets are hosting the event, so we need everyone to chip in to help!  Since this is Father's Day, we would like to do something a little different and host a Father's Day brunch.  We will be serving brunch from 10-12, giving us time to set-up beforehand and clean-up in plenty of time to make it out for the race.  Families, as always, are welcome!

The menu will be as follows:

Variety of baked, egg dishes
Sausage and Canadian bacon
Pancakes and waffles
Fresh fruit salad
Sunday coffee cake
Coffee, juice, and milk
Mimosas
Bloody Marys

Here's what we need people to volunteer for and commit to bringing:

baked, egg-based dishes - if you are willing to make a double batch and bring two pans, that would be great!

large bowls of fresh fruit salad

assorted juices (need a total of about 20 gallons, so please specify how much you will commit to bringing)

milk (need 4-5 gallons)
Mimosas
Bloody Marys
We also need a few people to bring electric griddles and/or waffle irons in order for us to serve a large quantity of people.

Finally, we also need volunteers to help throughout the event.  Please let me know if you are willing to take a shift and your time preference (9:30-11 or 11-12:30).  We will need help with set-up, in the kitchen, at the pancake/waffle station, and clean-up.

Please respond to Jill who will be helping to organize the event at jsfynboh at yahoo.com with your volunteer commitments, thank you!  She will then be in touch with you for further details.

Thank you!
