Hello J70's! Here's the orders from the Board for tomorrow. I'm curious
who's interested in going out with HOUSEHOLD MEMBERS only. The forecast is
pretty windy tomorrow SSE 20-30. Both my kids are working RC duty tomorrow
which means the Rasta will be 2 manning with Nicolie and myself. If it's
that windy or even 15-20 we will go JAM ( Jib and Main) only....... and
maybe just sail with the Main only. We are going to show up and see what
the conditions are and make a call from the docks. I would really like to
get out and show support for the Yacht Club since I know they've been
working so hard to get us out.
As always, give me a call with any questions, I know it's not ideal and
it's going to be hard for about 99.9% of the club to sail with Household
only.

Hello all,

We know most of you are anxious to get out on the water, and the Board has
spent a great deal of time figuring out what we can do responsibly. Please
keep in mind that our club is very “visible” and our relationship with the
city, water patrol, neighbors, and general public is very important.

The guidelines published this week allow practice events, even though
racing remains prohibited. As a result, WYC will host practice events
starting this Sunday, subject to the following;

   - Crews are limited to members of the same household
   - Starts will be staggered by 20 minutes - to avoid crowding at the
   Yacht Club
   - The use of masks and gloves are recommended
   - Full details are published in Amendment #4 found at wyc.org/rules
   - Members are reminded, even though this is a practice event, RRS Rule4
   “decision to race” still applies.

It is very important that we don’t overcrowd the docks and other spaces at
the Yacht club.

Rigging Procedures:

   - Please arrive at the club ready to go. We want to minimize time on the
docks. Rig on the way out to the race course, as much as possible.
   - The Restrooms will be open from Noon to 6:00 pm. The rest of the club
is still closed - Wash your hands after using the restroom.
   - The patio, beer keg, ice machine, pop, kitchen and barbeque are still
   closed.

Practice:

   - Practice starts will be staggered by 20 minutes to minimize congestion
at the club and in the starting area. Two fleets will start together. We
will use RRS Appendix U for all practice starts.
      - The Class flag will be a White Flag
   - The warning signal for S2 and Capri 25 will be at 2pm, meaning a 2:03
   start.
      - 2:00 warning, 2:03 Start for S2 and Capri 25
      - 2:20 warning , 2:23 Start for J70 and J22
      - 2:40 Warning, 2:43 Start for Sonar and J24
      - 3:00 warning , 3:03 start for all PHRF and MORC
   - Courses – see diagram below
   - These are practice events, and will NOT count toward the A, B, C or
   Champ series.

Maximum wind velocity will be lower due to short-handed racing. Practices
may be designated with Spinnaker, Main and Jib only, or abandoned at the
PROs discretion.

Post-Race:

   - Please de-rig as much as possible on the way in
   - Please maintain social distancing, and limit socializing - ensure
groups are not larger than 25 people. We’ve already had an incident where
someone called the Wayzata Police over social distancing concerns.

We are looking forward to starting racing again. In the meantime, thank you
for understanding this is not anything like a regular champ race. This is
the first step to get back to something normal.

Sincerely,

Andy Spence-Parsons Terry Foster
