Hi everyone,
Curious if anyone from the fleet is planning to haul out early? I’m hoping
to race into October.  Do some folks have experience raising the keel while
in the water? I have the keel raising device and drill bit but have never
done it.
This would likely allow us to get to the crane even in very low water. I
would happily trade beer, rum, pizza etc for help hauling  out.

Probably not a big deal for us. We can raise the keel using a drill bit.
The former owner did it all the time although the ramp depth may not be
good either. Short term we could motor back to the crane without the
centerboard fully down as well as long as we are not doing any rocking and
rolling
Sad to think about haul out but it is the reality. I’m sure we’ll get a ton
of rain between now and then but you never now

We all know, we're experiencing a prolonged dry spell. This is increasing
concern about low water in the marina. We measured the approximate water
depth a many places in the marina on 8/20/2021. This information, combined
with the daily measurement at Grays Bay Dam will help you plan when you
need to take action. Access to the crane is a particular concern. The club
is assessing options. In the meantime, check out wyc.org/lowwater

In the event you need to remove your boat without having achieved the
15-race requirement, you may petition the BOD for an exemption next season.
