Hi folks,
Several WYC members have enjoyed the Leech Lake Regatta your after year.
See info below. Unfortunately I can’t join this year because of a conflict.
 Cheers,
Larry

Larry:
You need to talk the J70 folks into coming to the Leech Lake regatta.
Saturday Sunday Monday August 7,8,9. Great buoy racing on Saturday and
Monday. and a 20 mile or so distance race on Sunday.

Last regatta (2019) some hotshots on a J70 came from out of town (north or
south Dakota???) and won it all. Cyclone finished 2nd overall.

Paul Holden, crew cyclone, owner of Happy Ours

*Brick-Oven Pizza, Bemidji Beer, Local Musicians; Saturday 6ish:* What
better way to end the first day of racing than an evening of music, beer,
and brick-oven-fired pizza?

*Bemidji Brewing* will be hosting a beer tasting.
*Rob Wood* will be at the helm of the pizza oven.
*Shores’ own musicians* will provide the musical back drop.

Donations will be accepted. They might say, “in heaven there is no beer”
but this is LLR50 where you can get a “slice of heaven” and a tall one
post-race on Saturday!

*Big-Time Entertainment:* Shine up your best dancing sandals and stay
hydrated for Sunday’s festivities. The traditional LLR BBQ will be the
kick-off for an evening of fun and dancing to the music of The DeadBeats.
The DeadBeats are familiar with the Walker area having performed at
MoonDance as well as being an opening act for famed groups like Three Dog
Night and the Doobie Brothers. They play music ranging from covers of some
of classic rock’s greatest hits to R&B memories to the dance beats of
Motown. For a peek at the band, check them out at: DeadBeats at Moondance
