Thank you so very much Andy for your diligence in keeping us informed.  Your efforts this season to ensure we have some kind of racing this is greatly appreciated.
I don’t know what is surrounding the guidelines with MYC racing.  I can only assume that they are handling them much in the way we have this season.
My only two cents that I wish to share with the fleet is remember there are people who choose to ignore the guidelines that does not make it ok.  These are frustrating times my dear sailing family and we need to stick together as we always have.  It’s what makes WYC great; we stick together with positive enthusiasm.
All of this insanity will pass soon and we will all be out on the water again with laughter and our game on. In the meanwhile I am confident that our board is doing everything in their power to ensure we have some kind of race this season.  So please join me in applauding our board for a job well done!
Wishing the wind always fills your sails.

   Good Day.
 Here’s a brief update on the current operational status.  Although the the Minnesota Department of Health published new guidelines last Friday, they are not effective until sometime in July, to allow organisations to make robust plans.  In the meantime, our operational status is this same as last week, as follows;
 Self-directed sailing:
 Self directed sailing such as cruising and practicing is available.  Sailors should follow the DNR Outdoor Recreation Guidelines which indicate households, and non-housholds with the appropriate social distancing, may participate in this recreational activity so long as they remain 6-feet from other boats, and limit gatherings to no more than 25. If you need to launch your boat, details on the procedures are here https://www.wyc.org/page/show/5757146-compliant-launch-plan
 WYC Organized Practice:
 WYC will host an organized practice event this Sunday starting at 1400, in accordance with the StaySafeMN guidelines - Currently, this means for HOUSEHOLDS ONLY (as soon as that changes, we will let you know).  Full details are here https://www.wyc.org/page/show/5794439-sunday-practice-sessions  .For this event to be successful, it is critically important not to congregate at the WYC facility in a group of more than 25-people in accordance with EO 20-74.
 WYC Organized Racing:
 Organized competition, such as racing, is still not permitted by the StaySafeMN guidelines. However, the new guidelines published last Friday offer a hopeful sign. We're currently reworking the schedule, and updating the required preparedness plan so we will be ready when the rules change.
 Other reminders:
 In the interest of COVID-19 safety;
 Please wear a mask or other face covering - as recommend in EO 20-74
 If you don’t feel well, please go home
 Please maintain 6-foot social distancing
 Please cough into your sleeve
 Please sanitize your hands
 Thanks for continuing to support the club with your membership, and we hope to see you on the water soon.
 Best regards,  Andy   _______________________________________________
