It’s every racer's worst nightmare. You're having the best race of your life, then something happens. You look back and your crew-mate is overboard. Your Crew-craft-mission changed in a heartbeat. What do you do? How do you take control of the boat? How do you rescue them? If you're in the water, are you confident your crew-mates can come back for you?

Practice makes perfect. The AIS fleet is proud to host this important training opportunity. Gather your crew and Join us on June 13 at 0930 to practice the on-the-water skills you'll need to turn a potential tragedy, into an epic post race story.
0930 - Gather at WYC. Rig your boats with old sails and gather in Wayzata Bay.
0945 - Tune in to CH68 and watch three on-the-water demonstrations
Attracting attention - shouting vs a whistle
Return and recovery from upwind position
Return and recovery fro downwind position
1015-1115 - Self directed practice. Bring a milk jug filled with water attached to a fender, and your old sails including a spinnaker. Practice both the upwind and downwind maneuvers. Ensure each of your crew takes a turn at the being the spotter and the driver. Remember, its often the primary driver who falls in!
Return to WYC by 1130, in time for you to prepare for the A-series race.
See you there.
