A couple of ideas for the extra trophies:
- do a Smoozability award (Capri fleet votes on this every year to the
Capri sailor who is the most fun to sail with and helps around etc.)
- we need a Shackleton trophy!

Subject: [Phrf] new trophies

Actually, old trophies that come from the dissolution of PHRF III, but
they are new to the I and II fleets. I, with virtually no help from the
membership, (I received two replies from my previous email asking for
help), have made the decision on how they will be distributed.
It has always been a concern of mine that the women sailors in the PHRF
fleet have not received the accolades that they deserve. we are
changing that. There will now be trophies for: Women's Big Island,
Women's Buoy Cup and Women's Bay Series. There will also be a trophy
for the Big Island Series. The new face plates are being created as
this message is getting to you and should be ready by the banquet. If
they are not, I will make sure that they get into the hands of the
winners as soon as they are finished.

There are also a few trophies left over, and I would like to ask you to
think, over the off season, as you are sitting around the fire or on the
sofa having a cup of tea or a hot toddy or.... to come up with some
suggestions about how these other trophies should be awarded: newest
member, silliest member, tallest member, dumbest member, cutest member,
best dressed member, best sailor, worst sailor, or what other races that
should have some recognition. It is up to you. It will be on the
agenda for the spring meeting, so bring your ideas.

I, thanks to a suggestion from Dave Johnson, will also save the old PHRF
III face plates, and will either attach them on the back of the "New"
trophies or find a way to mount them in a frame so that we do not lose
the history of all of the wonderful sailors that have touched the water
in previous years.

Questions? concerns? You know where to find me.
