Attention PHRF fleets,

There is an issue with the scoring software is preventing it from automatically recognizing boats that are racing in more than one fleet. To address this issue any boat that wants to race in more than one fleet must use the procedure from last year which is listed below. If your boat already has ratings for both fleets on the scratch sheet, you do not need to reapply for a secondary fleet rating.

1. All boats must declare their primary fleet by submitting the standard PHRF rating form and fee to the PHRF Treasurer.

2. Boats from either PHRF fleet may declare a secondary fleet by submitting a second PHRF rating form directly to the rating officer. The second form must include the required additional rating information and must indicate that this will be their secondary fleet. No additional fee is required. Please do this as early as possible in the season as the process can take over a week to complete.

3. On the scratch sheet a boats standard sail number will be used for the primary fleet. For the secondary fleet the boats sail number will be followed by the letter G or Y. G (green flag) for PHRF I and Y (yellow flag) for PHRF II.

3. A boat must have a current fleet rating in the scoring system in order to race in that fleet.

4. No dual fleet boat may race in more than one fleet in the same series or regatta. A series at a regatta may be a single race.

5. Dual fleet boats may fly only one fleet flag on their back stay while racing. The fleet flag must correspond to the fleet in which they wish to be scored.

6. Only the points earned while racing in the boat’s primary fleet will count toward the Championship.

7. Only the points earned while racing in the boat’s primary fleet will count toward the Boat of the Year.

8. Boats planning to race in their secondary fleet must inform the fleet captain and the PRO of their intentions a week in advance.

9. A boat racing in their secondary fleet must inform the signal boat by hail before the start of each race. Tell them your sail number including the correct letter for your secondary fleet (G for PHRF I or Y for PHRF II)

10. At the finish line, make sure that you hear your sail with the correct letter when you cross the line. If you do not hear them say the letter after you sail number, hail the committee boat and remind them that this is your secondary fleet.
