Hello PHRFers! It looks like tomorrow, Thursday the 9th of July, will be our first REAL race of the season! Are you as excited as I am?!?! I know it's a tad late, but hey, we get to race this year at least! The glass is half full (of ice-cold beer as I
always say)! Well, there are a couple things you have to do first, as you have read from Andy's last email (and copied below). Sign the waiver, fill out your crew list, and do the check-in on the day of the race. Read the directions carefully! One of the key things that you may not notice right off, is that you need to wear a mask from your car until you leave the dock. As I read it, though, you can remove your mask (if you choose) once in open water. Read back over Andy's instructions below. </div>

Racing (modified competition) for Course 1 fleets (S2 7.9, J24, J22, Sonar) starts TONIGHT. Course 2 fleets will start Thursday. Here are a few important reminders.<br class="">

Face coverings. All sailors MUST have a face covering while at WYC. You must wear that face covering as you encounter members on the docks and/or at the club. Regardless of your views on efficacy.<br class="">

6-feet distance. In order to mitigate the risk of transmission, everyone should remain 6-feet apart from people not in your household. If you are closer, wear your face covering.<br class="">
<br class="">
Do not arrive before 1630 (4.30pm). Since gathering at the club is not yet permitted, please do not arrive before 1630. Go directly to your boat, and rig on the way to the race course.<br class="">
<br class="">
Double handed. To maintain greater distance on your boat, you may choose to sail double handed. It is great skills development that teaches you how other parts of the boat work! Collect your streamer from the entry to your dock, and fly It from your backstay.
Those sailing Double handed will start together as the last start. <br class="">

Member expectations. This pandemic has changed every aspect of our lives. WYC is no exception. We're all now required to follow a set of expectations laid out here, in order to maintain the wellbeing of others.
