Dear WYC Members,

The board is acutely aware of the desire of many members to participate in recreational sailing even though we still can’t race. The recent Governor’s order allows members of the same household to boat together. WYC has already facilitated this. Members intending to use the docks are expected to sign the usage agreement <https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdag7qFqH-ZjAqM-Xa7M0Djd0hu0rREKnaNROh6lEHBKek45w/viewform> . It also allows businesses to provide services with the appropriate social distancing measures in place. We see this as the next step to getting back on the water.

Starting this weekend the Club will assist members of the SAME HOUSEHOLD to launch and rig their boats by operating the crane and gin pole as follows. If you can’t launch your own boat with members of your household, there may be several households within the club who would volunteer to help you. Additional launch weekends will be available.
You must accept the terms of the usage agreement <https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdag7qFqH-ZjAqM-Xa7M0Djd0hu0rREKnaNROh6lEHBKek45w/viewform>
You must sign-up for a one-hour launch slot - click here <https://www.wyc.org/dib_sessions/show/37627> (just showing up is not acceptable as it will cause congestion)
You and your household must wear masks and gloves while at the crane or gin pole
Everyone must stay 6-feet away from Todd or Steve as they operate the equipment for you
If a volunteer household is helping you, you must stay 6-feet away from them
You or your volunteers, are responsible for sanitizing the equipment ready for the next person (WYC will provide the disinfectant)
If a volunteer household was helping you, they must sanitize the boat before you step on.

Please read the full procedure here  <https://www.wyc.org/page/show/5757146-compliant-launch-plan>

This may all appear cumbersome but the board considers these precautions necessary to demonstrate compliance with the Governor’s orders, and to demonstrate our commitment to the safety of our members and the wider community. It is important to remember the “no gathering” part of the requirements.

Again, this is just the next of several steps to restore to normal operations.

Thanks,

WYC Board of Directors
