Subject: 2007 Kirby Cup

 

Dear Sonar Fleet Captains:

 

The Texas Corinthian Yacht Club and SCA Fleet 13 is pleased to announce
the dates chosen for the Kirby Cup which will be hosted by TCYC on the
weekend of October 20-21. As you are aware, the Kirby Cup is the annual
Team Racing Championship sanctioned by the Sonar Class Association to
honor its designer, Bruce Kirby. The 2007 Kirby Cup Regatta will be
sailed on Galveston Bay at TCYC which is located in Kemah, Texas.

 

The purpose of this announcement is not only to make everyone aware of
the dates, but to give each fleet who is interested in sending a team to
compete plenty of opportunity to take care of any logistics necessary.
Every fleet is invited to come down as our goal is to host as many teams
as possible. We anticipate posting a NOR  on the Sonar Class website in
the very near future.  October is typically a beautiful time of year for
sailing on Galveston Bay with steady breezes and mild temperatures.

 

TCYC will be providing all boats, sails (12 sets of brand new North
sails) and housing for the participants who wish to attend. After
discussing with your home fleet members, please respond with an
indication of your level of interest. We look forward to hearing back
from you and seeing you in October.
