Sailors,

Tomorrow ( weather permitting ) is the Annual Lonar Cup.... A proud tradition in the Sonar  Fleet.  This is a showcase event where each boat sails with one lone sailor....where skipper and crew become one.... It is the ultimate dsipaly sailing prowess, cunning, skills and some luck....

Last year Tom Brown snatched the trophy and related bragging rights away from Mark Kochendofer...( (Mark won in 2006).Tom came from behind in a very light air day and caught up to Mark who had a sizeable lead from the begning of the race....

Tomorrow promises to be heavier air than last year at least.... The men of the Sonar Fleet 5 boat will sail away from WYC tomorrow about 9:00AM...each with their own purpose yet with a ccommon one that complels our participation...

I offer ta poem by Robert Frost...for those that seek some insight on this...

Neither Out Far Nor In Deep

The people along the sand
All turn and look one way.
They turn their back on the land.
They look at the sea all day.

As long as it takes to pass
A ship keeps raising its hull;
The wetter ground like glass
Reflects a standing gull

The land may vary more;
But wherever the truth may be--
The water comes ashore,
And the people look at the sea.

They cannot look out far.
They cannot look in deep.
Btu when was that ever a bar
To any watch they keep?

Robert Frost
So far, the following boats are slated to particpate in tomorrows event:
