[Sonar] Geneva Regatta Dates are 9/20-9/21

Are we possibly interested in a team racing format for the Sonar local
regatta on the Capri National regatta weekend?

We had our Fleet meeting on Sunday and discussed the schedule.  

 

There were 4 boats present that expressed an interest in traveling to
Geneva.  

 

We decided to begin planning a regatta in Minneapolis on the 27th.  

 

As a result, we voted to tell you that we prefer that you hold the Great
Lakes Champs on the weekend of 20th after all.  

 

I hope that this response is timely for your planning.  Let us know the
final dates for the regatta.  Also if the 20th is chosen don't forget to
update sonar.org <http://sonar.org/> .

Just an update on the Fall Sonar regatta dates; according to our Commodore
the Melges Boat Works pushed for a National M-17 regatta to be held here and
were given the last weekend in September at their request.  I've talked with
the Commodore about the earlier time for our regatta not being a good time
for the Sonars at WYC.  He wants to know how many boats from your fleet will
be affected, that is, how many boats will be coming in the fall with the
suggestion that if there are enough the two regattas could be held on the
same weekend.  The thought being that if no boats were coming down, the
earlier date would make no difference.

 

I know it's early to make plans for the fall but usually there are four or
five boats from Wayzata that have made the trip in the past which I
explained to the Commodore.  It would be hard for us to determine how many
of our boats will be sailing in  the regatta at this time.  So this is just
a heads up about the schedule and we would appreciate your fleet's input.
