Hi Bert the Canadians would prefer the 27-29 as the August 7 - 9 dates
conflict with LOWISA. When I last talked to Fred and Jim then where on
way to Geneva to pick up a new Sonar - they are probably driving
somewhere around WYC right now... Cheers.

Regatta

	Hi All,
	Last night I had a great conversation with Kathy Lindgren, the
new executive director of the Sheboygan Sailing center. Hans is still
involved, but rolls have changed.

	Sheboygan Team Racing Regatta
	She is excited to do another Invitational Sheboygan Team Race
Regatta. She said our event last year is all the buzz at the Sheboygan
YC and they all want to learn to team race. They still have the 8
Sonars so we planned a 9 Sonar event with 3 teams like last year. Marty
has volunteered to tow his boat over as the 9th boat. I haven't talked
to Chris Fittipalti about maybe talking his new boat #820 over so they
would all be the same new Ontario boats. The dates that work best for
them are the last weekend in Aug 27-28-29, somewhat preferred or the 1st
weekend in Aug 7-8-9. I told her they work for Fleet #5 as I'm
currently making up the WYC schedule can move things around to
accommodate the event. I told her I would to get back to her in a day
or two.

	Please email ASAP your preferred date for going to Sheboygan :-)

	SOTN Regatta and the WYC Sonar Team Race Regatta
	Team Racing is such a buzz at S YC she could bring 3 or 6 Sonars
over for our Team R Regatta, but the date can't conflict with what they
have scheduled with US Sailing. We settled on Oct 1-2-3. As the
Canadians will bring 3 boats to both the SOTN and stay for the Team Race
Regatta, Carmella and I will schedule SOTN the weekend before, Sept,
24-25-26. In this way it won't interfere with the WYC Championship, S2
7.9 Nationals or the Commodore Cup. It looks like we will have Teams
from:

	*	Sheboygan
	*	Winnipeg
	*	WYC Team #1
	*	WYC Team #2 (maybe)

	If we have 4 teams, we will have two team pairs (12 boats) on
the course at the same time. If we had 3 umpires for each flight we
would need 6 umpire boats and 6 umpires. We may not be able to manage
that for this first regatta, but maybe 2 umpires for each flight for a
total of 4. Don Becker, international umpire, who stayed at my house
for the Richardson said he will come back to umpire our Team race
regatta, if it fits his schedule. He will be in Sheboygan the week
before umpiring the US Sailing National Match Race Championship and
hopefully will be able to drive over to WYC, stay with me, and umpire
our event. There is also the possibility Dave Pelling, the America's
Cup Umpire who was the Chief Umpire at the last two Richardson cups the
WYC (and who drove my red car for all 4 days of the regatta-he love
it-he was styling) will co to umpire our regatta. I'm thinking we will
have 3 days of racing with a debrief each day at end of racing with
these guys as they did for the Richardson. I hope we can get Bruce
Martinson to umpire. The Seager bothers (Scott & Brent) are umpires in
training and we might get them to Sheboygan for more training and also
for our regatta.

	Regards,
	Bert
