Blake asked me to circulate to the Sonar Fleet. If two boats could each
take one of these people it would be a testimony to the Corinthian spirit of
our fleet.

Subject: Sonar for MS Cup?

Ernie-

Could you please pass this along to the Sonar fleet list?

I'm searching for a WYC Sonar that can take two (2) aboard for the Burton
Cup/MS Cup race next Saturday, August 28th. A young woman (in her late 20s)
named April with MS and her husband are coming up from Iowa for the event.
I've arranged private housing for them, and they will be my guests during
the corn roast party that evening.

They want to sail in the race if at all possible. Since they have limited
(if any) sailing experience, I feel strongly that a Sonar would be a great
choice due to the high boom, and comfortable cockpit a seating options.
She's still fairly high-functioning as an MS patient (not disabled, so sort
of similar to my situation) but has been struggling with MS symptoms
recently, so the MS Cup race is a way for her to get "empowered" to try
something cool and unique.

Last year an MS patient did the race as guest on a Sonar during the big
breeze with success, so we'd like to try it again.

I'd also like to put in a hint to see if we can get most of the Sonar Fleet
to participate again. A reminder that #22 won last year, and I need the MS
Cup trophy back to WYC ASAP, engraved please, ;)

The event is getting bigger and better, and the Corn Roast part is fast
becoming a major "Must do" event. See my web page at http://www.mscup.org
for more details!

Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Cheers,

Blake
