Come test drive the number one selling scow in North America.

MYC hosting Open House for those interested in test sailing a MC.

Wednesday, July 24, 2013 starting at 6pm and running simultaneously with MYC
Grill and Chill.

We will have at least 5 current member boats rigged and ready to go next
Wednesday. Check out the new cockpit design. Check out the old cockpit
design. See which you like better. Take different ones for a sail. You
will never have as good an opportunity to test the new boats or one of the
many competitive used boats to see what best fits your sailing style and
budget.

MCs have been racing with MYC since 1989. They sail in the attractive
Saturday morning and Sunday morning time slots and have their own start.
MYC has 16 registered boats with about 8-12 boats consistently on the
starting line. MCs can be raced single handed or with a crew. 12 knots of
wind is generally where you add a second person, although some larger
sailors can always sail single handed.

The MC is manufactured by Melges. www.melges.com Johnson Boat Works in
White Bear Lake also manufactured MCs under license through 1998. The MC
hull design is controlled by the MC Class Sailing Association
(www.mcscow.org). A new cockpit design was incorporated in 2009, or at hull
number 2478. The hull shape and spars of all boats are exactly the same.
Used boats start around $3,000 and many newer ones sell for around $10,000
with trailers, sails and covers. Brand new boats are around $15,000. MCs
are fast and fun and have more regatta options than any other scow class.

Come check it out. High wind or inclement weather will cancel the event.
Free pontoon boat transport from Park Avenue Landing or Carson Bay crane
facility. If you want to have dinner on the island and are not a member,
Carol says bring cash.
