All:

This is just a reminder to keep your calendar clear for February 11 for the
winter Sonar social and white elephant event! 7PM, 1037 Lake Street
East, Wayzata MN (this is not the club).

Also, on February 25, our own Sonarian band, the Maeflies will be
playing at Victor's Lounge in Excelsior. 8PM This is the Pirates Booty
(Sonar #159) band and we like to come listen, so there will be some of us
there as well.

Details of the White Elephant (or Yankee Swap if you are a New Englander):

1. Bring some libation to put in the cooler or something to add to the food
table by the kitchen. Surprise us, as long as it is edible or drinkable.

2. Bring a fancy wrapped gift of some sort and drop it with the pile that
will be forming at the door. Be inventive about the gift. Don't make it
valuable. Invention and enticing wrapping is the key to make it fun.
Things cobbled together from the sailing gear spare parts bin are great but
it doesn't have to be sailing oriented.

3. Pick up another gift of your choice from the same pile as your initial
white elephant gift sometime early in the party (choose wisely).

4. Any time when the gifts are still wrapped during the party, you can
take someone else's gift (swap) at any time and they have to comply or be
labeled a party pooper.

5. At some point, the host will have everybody open their gifts.

6. After the gifts are open, you can still swap, but you can refuse a swap
without the denigrating label of party pooper.

If you don't bring a gift, you don't get one, and you'll get an official
party pooper sign to hang around your neck!
