Derek,

Sorry to tell you that Sonar 239 (Hey Now) would not participate in the possible Oct. 3-4 SotN regatta.

Subject: [Sonar] Star of the North Regatta?

Because of schedule changes and the availability of the race committee, the SotN regatta will NOT be held on its current schedule of September 11-13.

However, we might have the possibility of combining with the U Gotta Regatta on October 3rd and 4th. It would be split course racing (SotN on one side, UG on the other) like we did last year on Thursday nights. Of course it would be modified racing with some (or more) of these parameters-

-‘Covid’ rules would be in place (mask required, max crew number, daily check-in, etc.)
-No post racing events on shore (race and then go home)
-Potential 1st place trophies only
-Award ceremony done via VHF on the docks with crews staying on their respective boats
-Multiple races per day (exact number TBD)
-October racing (colder, potentially windier)

More details would need to be hammered out but the question is this- Under these parameters, would you PARTICIPATE in the SotN?

Please respond to me with YES or NO.

Thanks,
Derek
