in response to my email in a effort to work with the WCSC Sonars for charter for

should be able to work out a program. Lets brain storm how to do
this.</SPAN></DIV>

<DIV>Bert,</DIV>

<DIV>Welcome Home!</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Last year we kicked off our Keelboat rental program by sending out a 1500
piece mailer, all WYC members where included in that mailing. No one took
us up on the program. In early September, I received a call from Ben
Burgum, one of the WYC Sonar owners. He told me that some of the other
Sonar members where upset that I would not allow anyone to charter one or both
of the Sonar's for the North Americans. I told him that was not true,
however, if someone wanted to charter either boat that a considerable amount of
work needed to be done on the boats in order to make them race ready (that is to
make them safe for racing). I offered to wave the rental fee if someone
was willing to put the effort and cash into the project, no one took me up
on that. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Good news moving forward; the WSF board of directors has approved an
adaptive program and designated the two Sonar's for that purpose. Ernest
Brody is in charge, he is free to do what ever he deems fit with the boats,
including chartering them to WYC members to race. I arranged for the two
Sonar's to be stored free of charge at Shorewood so that they could be worked on
over the winter. The only catch to this program is that there is currently
no money to put into the boats, pay for coaching, etc. Ernest is going to
have to use his awesome creativity and even more awesome energy to find ways to
make this happen. The program has to break even at a bare minimum.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Please work with Ernest to make this program work, I see nothing but a win
win with it!</DIV>
