PIERPONT
At 94 years of age, Doc Pierpont passed away last week. If
you race on Superior, you sail in Doc Pierpont's wake. He co-founded the
Trans-Superior race in 1969 along with much of the racing we now enjoy on
Superior. Hearing Doc Pierpont stories during an offshore
race remains a rite of passage for anyone sailing on the Great Lakes. Fair
