My lift was in bad shape: main plank drooping, one side thinning & bent.
John Dyer recommended the welding service of Jeff Milbrandt. He promptly
inspected my lift and recommended gusset plates as more cost-effective.
The next day, he installed 8 aluminum plates with stainless bolts. Before
and after shots below. He can design, build, or repair, and likes “lake
projects.”

[image: image.png]Remember to get your traveling trophies engraved,
polished, and back to the clubhouse before the awards on Nov 18. I left
some silver polish at the club.
Yes, you need to bring it whether you're attending or not, even if you won
the same trophy again this year. Reason: give others a chance to see what
they could win. Also, trophies get lost if we don't keep tabs on them.
Fleet captains: this is your responsibility.
Double-handed racing was a pandemic experiment so popular, WYC continues to
sail. And since Monday night races now count towards participation,
mooring priority and racer rate (see July 25 amendment to the SI), they
also need their own traveling trophies.
Harvey Kalweit, master woodworker from the Capri 25 fleet, crafted stands
for a pair of clocks. I will have brass plaques engraved as follows, so
let me know promptly of any misspellings, omissions, or other errors. We
know that, for example, when a sail number changes hands, the website
incorrectly shows the new owner as the past winner. Note that since 2020
races were organized as July, August, and September Evening Series, there
was no D or H series. And since 2020 results were scored by fleet, without
actual or corrected times, there’s no overall winner.
