[J22-Fleet 1] FW: Media & Sponsor Race

Dear Fellow J22er's,

 

We have secured Eric Perkins as the race MC and Lee Valsvik among other
media folks to participate in the race. I need between 25 and 30 boats
to go over that starting line on Saturday afternoon, September 9th for
us to have a good showing. 9, J22s have been sponsored @ $300.00 to date
in addition to the 10 that our primary sponsors of the 2006 Wealth
Enhancement Group J22 NACs have earned via their sponsorship commitment
to us. Not all 10 are expected to participate. That means we need
between 8 and 11 more sold to make the event a success. If we have the
press out there and only a handful of boats show it won't reflect the
enthusiasm we have for our sport, the important role the WSF plays or
for the NAs that follow a few days later. If I missed someone that has
their boat sold please let me know. Also, please reply if you plan to
participate. I will need boats to sail with primary regatta sponsors. We
didn't want to allocate these boats out immediately for fear folks
wouldn't try very hard to sell their boat if they drew a ride with a
primary sponsor. Even if you are not sailing in NAs you can still sail
in the Media & Sponsor Race

 

To review what you or your sponsor gets for $300.00

 

1.	Sail with you
2.	* Boom decal logo or name of sponsor for the Media & Sponsor
Race and for NAs too (if not sailing NAs we will transfer the decal)
3.	WSF has 501c 3 status from the Federal Gov. so the $300.00 makes
a nice tax deduction.
4.	A shot at great trophies, since novices and seasoned vets will
be sailing together. This will be to disrupt the normal order of things

5.	Mention of their participation as and insert in the Regatta
Program
6.	This is not a serious club race, bring your kids, the sponsor's
or someone else's out to race, No protesting and remember the funds go
for the kids!

 

* Note: I need a high resolution logo artwork no later then noon of
September 5th otherwise the decal will read: "Sponsored by: MacKenkenzie
& Assoc." as an example. To ensure you have a high resolution artwork

Some of us under Thorn's tireless direction have been buring the
midnight oil to pull off a great NACs Regatta for J22 Fleet One. Some of
our husbands, wives and significant others are even still talking to us.
We are all swamped with last minute details. My focus for the next week,
and requires a lot of hand holding, is to get the Media to commit and
show up. It we would be nice to have the members of fleet step up to the
plate and make sure we can sell a few more boats for the race. Boats
that have sold to date have used some creative ideas like splitting
costs between them. Some have matched their employer's contribution.
Please give me one less thing to worry about. At the end of districts we
will allocate the primary sponsor boats to anyone that hasn't sold a
boat. This means you have a week to pedal your boat for a good cause and
help to secure some return coverage for NAs and for our primary
sponsor's bank rolling the Regatta.

I really need everyone's help on this or we might have to cancel it for
fear that the perception by the media of an under supported event will
hurt us more then help us. We can still pull this off! Thanks for your
