Hi everyone --

Check out the Web site for detailed notes from the fall meeting (www.wyc.org/capri25). Here are the highlights:

1) The National Regatta was great! Special thanks to Dutch, Jill and everyone who worked hard to pull it off. The fleet voted to hold another 3-day regatta next year. Mark Hammett was appointed Regatta Co-Chair to drive the planning efforts for 2005.

2) Fleet dues must be in by the first race of the A series. If you are late, your boat will not be scored. This supercedes the club's rules.

3) Election of fleet officers for next season:

Fleet Captain: Bruce Tam
Vice Fleet Captain: Kai Kroll
Rules Chair: Paul Cossette
Rules Committee: Mark Weum, Nils Brennom
Rules Committee: Jesus Rodriguez, Lew Sacks
Treasurer/Secretary: Victoria Pilko
Awards/Recruiting: Denise Eng
Social Co-chair: Jay Gartin, Carmella Zagone
Crew Reps: Doug Dickerson, Dick Hanson, Todd Barkus

4) Introduction of new crew awards: Rookie Crew of the Year, Smoozability Award, Man Overboard Trophy. Redefinition of the Crew of the Year award. Nominations/voting for Smoozability is open to the entire fleet. Nominations are due Oct 15. Votes must be cast by Oct 29. See the Web site for details.

5) Additional glassware will be awarded by the fleet for 6th, 7th and 8th places for races/series that average 20 or more boats (see the Fleet Rules for details). Keeper burgees will be presented to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in the Sunset Series, Champ Series and Women's Champ Series only. Each boat in the fleet will receive a half-hull trophy that can be augmented with brass plates to mark winners of the traveling trophies.

6) The Rules Committee will look at removing the minimum size requirements for a spinnaker and report back at the spring meeting. See the Web site for Harry Pattison's comments on the topic.

7) Social events for next year include a spring party at Kai Kroll's house and a celebration of the 10th anniversary of the founding of the Capri 25 One Design fleet.

8) Charlie Schroeder will look at organizing a winter rules seminar for the fleet.

9) Code Blue won their protest hearing from the Nationals and asked that all boats consider storing their protest flags on their backstay to make it easier to know if you have been protested during a race.
