You definitely want to talk to Craiggae Smith about this.  He had the pleasure of pulling the deck off the hull on Looscrew at the bow based on rig tension.  I believe in the fix they reinforced the bow section and attached the forestay to the hull as a part of the repair given the forestay is attached only to the deck in the factory configuration, not to the hull.
