Thanks for shedding some light on this interesting part of our fleet's history! Brian Prall acknowledged this was not Ellie Jay, but it was still a mystery boat until now. And the second photo showing the mainsail numbers (though illegible here) obviously confirms it. Note: I've removed your original images and attached smaller versions to allow this to go out to the listserv.

Hey Dallas,

 I have a bit of history that I can share on this issue.  Actually the photo is not of Ellie Jay but is of Capri 25 #195 - ForeSail.  The photo was taken from a helicopter on December 4, 1987. Interestingly it was taken one day before the lake froze over. Bob Bilger is at the helm and Trent  (forgot his last name)  is flying the spinnaker.  I believe they had 100 prints made. The intent was to sell the prints to raise money to support the USA Olympic sailing team. I purchased the boat from Bob Bilger (broker not the original owner)  and as part of the sale he gave me these two prints which I framed and I have hanging in my home.  The second photo was taken the same day out on the main lake. Rich Jobin.

Last spring I found and purchased, after a 25 year search, a print of the iconic Explore MN helicopter poster of Ellie Jay sailing on a snowy day with an Explore MN spinnaker. It was framed and matted in a 1980's vintage style.

I left it at the clubhouse with the intent of donating it to fleet or club to display in the clubhouse or be used as a fleet trophy of some sort.  I left it against the wall in the south east corner of the building.

Then COVID shut down the clubhouse. Now it's gone.

My hope is that someone from the fleet took it for safe keeping, or for its intended purpose of serving the fleet or club as a whole. My fear is that someone took it for themselves, tossed it, or maybe it went out in Blake's garage sale. Perhaps it's just stuffed in some back corner of the club I couldn't find.

If you know the whereabouts, I would appreciate knowing. If the fleet or club doesn't want it, I assure you I would like it back. I never even had a chance to scan it digitally.
