Correction to the Fleet # 1 News - from our esteemed Rear Fleet Captain,
Jappa. Jappa correctly points out that the last actual race for the
Combined champ is scheduled for this Sunday, June 25 @ WYC - thank you Jappa
!

I was referring to the last Saturday of the combined champ, which of course
has 2 races, back to back, run by MYC. So instead of sleeping until noon
(Coolman ?), get up and get out there.

Even if you have not raced on previous Saturdays...take the time and come
race this weekend. Saturday mornings are great !! And we will have food
and booz to follow (that's right booz, not just beer) Hope to see you
Saturday. '
George

J22 WYC/MYC Combined Champ
Final session this Saturday starting @ 10am. Food and Drinks after racing @
WYC.
Get your final back to back races in - then come and chill and the club.

Sunday Starts
John Dyer has generously offered to host a starting clinic for Fleet # 1
this Sunday. Info is below. A great idea - hope to see you there.

Date: Sunday, June 25
Time: 11 A.M to 12 Noon
Stuff: I'll set up a starting line in the bay as close to the club as
possible. We'll run rolling starts using 3 minute intervals. I will use a
whistle and do collegiate countdowns so you can spend time with your head
out of the boat and not on your watch. Expect the Terry Foster "loud and
proud" hail letting you know how close you are to the line.
Fine print: After people get the knack of starting, expect the line to be
skewed port or starboard, or shortened to make things a bit more
regatta-like.
Deep Thoughts: This is practice and therefore if you see someone struggling,
please offer them advice on how to improve, or offer to get on their boat
and help them.
Waiver: Please know the rules for starting. Please don't hit anyone
Next: If the interest is there, we'll do more practicing in July and/or
August.
Comments?? Otherwise, see you there.

Z course Discussion - after racing tonight
Myself and Mike Bowers will be hosting a discussion about the WYC Z course
tonight after racing. Many of you have been impacted by the new Z course
designation, and we want to get opinions/ideas out for consideration. We
will plan on gathering to the left of the WYC clubhouse shortly after
racing. Hope to see you then.
