J/22 Fleet #1:

 

Here’s an update from yesterday’s J/22 Class Association meeting.

 

Championship Updates 

*	2018 Midwinter Championship at Houston Yacht Club, TX, March 16-18
*	2018 World Championship at Annapolis Yacht Club, MD, September 8-14

*	Jeff Todd said they are working on housing. Contact Brad Julian
regarding charters
boats are needed!

*	2019 Midwinter Championship at Fort Walton Beach, FL, dates TBD
*	2019 North American Championship at Wayzata Yacht Club, MN, June
20-23
*	2019 World Championship at Warnemünde Sailing Club, Germany, July
7-15

 

US J/22 Class Association New Website http://www.j22.com/ (website address
has not changed). The newsletter is always full of excellent content,
including tips http://www.j22.com/news/. 

 

US Watercraft

Matt, the J/22 Class Association president, met with Jeff Johnstone. Jeff
suggested we should be able to get molded parts from the builders in Italy
and Argentina. A vendor list has been posted at
http://www.j22.org/the-boat/vendors/. Chris mentioned that Waterline Systems
is up and running and also has parts. J-Boats is still talking with US boat
builders regarding making parts, etc. 

 

Technical Update 

None of the rules proposed and discussed in 2017 passed at the International
level. The question regarding GPS is with the International Technical
Committee.
