Greetings J/24 Sailors,
The 2012 sailing season is here! We've had some
great regattas already this year and we're just getting started. Below
you'll find some updates on upcoming events. We hope you get your boats out
on the water and enjoy the greatest one-design sailing around.
Remember, we need your input to keep this
information coming. If you have a newsworthy item, send it by email to
director at j24class.org and we'll get it out to all our sailors.

Team Tarheel Repeats as J/24 Midwinter Champions
Peter Bream and his Team Tarheel from Jacksonville,
Florida led 2012 J/24 Midwinter Championship wire-to-wire to repeat as
winners of this year's event. Bream's consistent top-five finishes through 9
races allowed him to cruise to victory, finishing with a 9 point margin over
John Mollicone of Newport, Rhode Island in second overall. Third place
overall went to Tony Parker of Annapolis, Maryland.
Thanks go out to the great team at the Davis Island
Yacht Club, Mount Gay Rum and all the other regatta sponsors. Don't miss the
fun next year, the J/24 Midwinter Championship again returns to DIYC in
February, 2013.

24th Annual J/24 Easter Regatta
April 6-8, 2012
Columbia Sailing Club - Columbia, SC
The J/24 Easter Regatta is just around the corner.
If you're smart you're planning now to be at the Columbia Sailing Club for
the 24th running of this J/24-exclusive event. As always, the plan is for as
much racing as possible, lots of fun, and good food. Springtime weather
systems should make this a great tune up for World Championships in
Rochester - but with warm water!

U.S. National Championship at the World's Highest
Yacht Club
June 24-30 in Dillon, Colorado.
The Dillon Yacht Club will be hosting the 2012 J/24
U.S. National Championship next summer on June 24-30. At over 9,000 ft above
sea level, this is your chance to sail at the "World's Highest Yacht Club"
in one of the most scenic parts of the country. Known for the challenging
sailing conditions and over-the-top parties, you won't want to miss this
event.

If you've never been to Dillon, Colorado you owe it
to yourself to get there. The scenery is nothing short of stunning, and the
parties are known to be legendary. What are you waiting for?
QLS 2012 J/24 World Championship
Time to make history! The big event of the year will
of course be the 2012 World Championship in Rochester, New York. If you're
reading this email, there's a good chance that you have already "qualified"
to sail.
ALL THE BUZZ
The upcoming J/24 Worlds were all the buzz during
the recent J/24 Mid-Winters in Tampa, Florida. Many racers are excited about
attending the event. And the buzz doesn't stop there, we are hearing from
all around the country and world. It is not too late to qualify for this
OPEN event. Become a full paid member of the J/24 class for 2012 (and 2011
if you were not a member then) and compete in a District or Regional event
before March 31, 2012.
WHERE, HOW, WHAT?
Ready to make your way towards Rochester NY, but not
sure where it is or where to stay? Visit our website and get dialed-in for
the event. Contact anyone on our regatta management team and they can help
you get here, find lodging and if you are interested in chartering a boat,
we can help you with that too. If you are not going to race, consider
chartering your boat out. Advertise your boat on our site in the Racing
section. Don't forget to join us on Facebook and Twitter, there's always new
info being shared.
