Hello Wayzata J24 Fleet and Nationals Sailors,

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SAIL DONATIONS FOR HOOFERS

If you have some sails in your garage that are not needed, we will take them. We need them. We will use them.  We are a 501(3)c and we badly need your used sails.

Here is the procedure:
1. Determine your fair market value (usually 15-30% of new sails)
Note: It is the responsibility of the donor to determine the Fair Market Value of a donation.  The IRS does not allow 501 (c) (3) organizations such as Hoofers to establish the value of gifts received.

2. Write an email or hard copy letter of donations (see below).
Send that email to me (dierkp at gmail.com, donations at hoofersailing.org and hoofer-donations at studentorg.wisc.edu

3. Email Dierk to arrange a place and time to pick them up this week or drop them off at WYC and put a note on them. There are racks on the west side of the building. dierkp at gmail best or call my cell 608-334-3574

4. Hoofer Sailing Club will send you an official letter of acceptance. This letter can be used for tax deduction purposes.

5. If you have any questions consult with your accountant or financial specialist and or call Wisconsin Hoofers 608-262-1630.

Over the years we have gotten tons of donated sails from the great and generous sailors from Wayzata and Minnetonka. But we can always use more, especially spinnakers.  I will be up to race on Bubbles and am bringing a truck to take as many sails as I can collect for any sail donations you may have.

We now have four J-24's and hopefully getting more, one of which is the legendary 007 is being raced by our sailing team and the J-22's are in great shape after being upgraded for match racing and repainted on both the hull and deck a winter ago. We have 1200 members and the J22's and J24 are used by hundreds of sailors each month.

Thanks again for your support in donated sails in the past, we hope to keep the J boats down here running and sailing.

If you in town this summer stop by the Union Terrace. We have major revamp of our building and lakefront. The entire Hoofer Wing was rebuilt from the ground up.
