Subject: Kirby Cup 2007

 

Dear Sonar Fleet Captains;

 

On behalf of the Texas Corinthian Yacht Club (TCYC) and SCA Fleet 13, I
am pleased to announce that we will be hosting the annual Kirby Cup at
TCYC on Galveston Bay next year. As you are probably aware, the Kirby
Cup is the annual Team Racing Championship sanctioned by the Sonar Class
Association to honor its designer, Bruce Kirby. The 2007 Kirby Cup
Regatta will be sailed on Galveston Bay at TCYC which is located in
Kemah, Texas.

 

The primary purpose of this announcement is to solicit some preliminary
feedback as to the currently scheduled date for the Regatta. After a
recent organizational meeting of the Club regatta coordinators, we are
proposing the dates of April 14-15, 2007. This happens to be the weekend
after Easter weekend and also a typically beautiful time of year for
sailing on Galveston Bay. This announcement is being sent to all Sonar
Fleets and it is our goal to host at least 4-6 fleets for the event.

 

TCYC will be providing all boats, sails and housing for the participants
who can attend. After discussing with you local fleet(s) members, please
respond with an indication of your interest in attending as well as how
the dates may fit into your schedule(s). We look forward to hearing back
from you and seeing you in April.
