During the last upwind on the Lonar, as most of you I'm sure did, I
had to flog my new main more and harder than I certainly wanted to keep
the boat on its feet. As Ernie said later...each flog...$5, $10.....

I'm keeping my old main around.

[Sonar] Protecting newer sails

Does it make sense to use old sails on days when it is very windy in order
to make the new sails last longer? At what wind speed should I consider
using the old jib or the old main?

20mph?

25mph?

Thursday?
