[Sonar] Fall Team Race Regatta

Hi All,
I volunteered to chair the Fall Team Race Regatta, as  I will not be 
racing in either the Commodore Cup or the Team race 
regatta.  Carmella will be racing in the Commodore Cup, so I don't 
have her to help.  The team race event is combined with the J-24 
U-Gotta-Regatta.  They will race Sat and Sunday and Sonars Friday Sat 
and Sunday.  We did this so we could share the social costs which 
makes it less expensive per person.  We are have live music the 
weekend before on both Friday and Sat night.  So, for this regatta 
maybe we have live music just Saturday night.  We don't have a 
sponsor for this regatta so maybe we only supply beer from the WYC 
tap and people bring their on Rum etc.   Thursday we will be open for 
registration.  No breakfast on Saturday morning.  Its also Commodore 
Cup.  Steve usually has coffee and a few donuts.  No lunches except 
RC.  Saturday night a fun party with live music and great 
food.  Sunday, lunch and trophies.



I need volunteers to for a committee, meet a few times to plan 
details and each to do their job!
    * Someone to work on a sponsor or 2.
    * Do we want to have a raffle?  The J-24s have done this for 
years, very successfully.
    * Do we want event TEE shirts?  For the Team Race?  For U-Gotta?
    * Someone to take care of trophies.  Get creative with 
keepers.  Should we pot for a really nice traveler or wait until the 
2 or 3rd year to make sure the regatta becomes an annual event and 
doesn't die.
    * registration Thurs and Friday including masking the forms.  We 
could have on-line registration, put down your crew names, sizes and 
a shirt be included.  We can get those for under $6-8.
    * We need a web site person.
    * Someone to write and print a Nor & SI.  I will review 
them.  How about it JR?
    * Get the band for Saturday.  Several people have sources for 
cheap, good bands who just love to play.
    * Buy the food at Sam's or Costco with me.  I have both 
cards.  We can haul it in my van and load it into the Club.
    * We need a group to prepare and serve Sat night.
    * We need a group to prepare and serve Sunday lunch.
    * We need a clean up crew Sunday after the regatta.
    * Fix the RC & Umpire lunches.  This is best done in a gallon zip 
lock with a nice homemade sandwich, small bag of chips, apple, 
cookie, candy bar.
    * Do we want Kattack for either Team Racing or U-Gotta?  If so we 
need a Kattack person.
SUGGEST YOU REPLY TO ALL WITH WHAT YOU THINK AND/OR ARE WILLING TO 
VOLUNTEER TO DO IN BLUE UNDER  OR BY THE ITEM.  I we put them in a 
list and send it out
