We have two underweight boats. 239 needs to add 29 lb (13 kg) of weight and
311 needs to add 51 lb (23 kg) of weight. Lead is most convenient but it
can be anything. It must be distributed in the boat according to C.4.2 (b)
in the Sonar Rule.

For those who care, I have calculated averages and standard deviations of
boat weights by builder.

· Seidelman boats are heaviest. Most of these boats have had at
least one major repair to chain plates, mast step, or keel stiffening.

· Ryder boats are lighter. Some of them have had major repairs
also.

· Ontario boats are lightest even with keel stiffening.

· Our lone DS Yachts boat is very light but in reviewing
certificates on file, this is an anomaly.

Two of our boats remain to be weighed. They are 391 and 757. 757 was
weighed at IFDS Worlds but will be weighed again at put-in. We will have
the scale for put-in on Sept 21 and 22.

All out-of-town boats will be weighed at that time also.
