*Background and notes from Inspection:*

On 11/29/14 Eric Johnson conducted an inspection of the Sonar Class
sailboats that were stored at the WaterFront Center and at Oyster Bay
Marine Center. The boats had been disassembled and stored for the winter.
The purpose of the inspection was to provide the Waterfront Center with an
evaluation of the Sonars and an approximate market value of them as of the
end of 2014.

Eric Johnson has been a member of the Sonar Class Association since 1984
and has served the Class Association as the Vice President of the Technical
Committee, Chairman of the Rules Committee for the International
Certification of the Class for use in the Paralympics. He continues to
serve as a Class Measurer.  Many of the boats that were inspected as part
of this evaluation were previously purchased and rebuilt by the author for
the use of Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht Club. This evaluation was provided
by the author to the WaterFront Center with no compensation and is an
advisement only.

*General Notes*

·       All trailers included may need one or more of the following:
lights, brakes, registration, paint, tires

·       No sails are included in the sale or donation of any boat – some
sails in fair to good condition may be available for purchase separately

·       Purchaser agree to pick up any donated or purchased boat(s) from
the WaterFront Center either at the WaterFront Center or Oyster Bay Marine
Center in Oyster Bay, NY. Location will depend on timing and arrangements
made during purchase

·       50% Deposit is required to reserve your interest in the boat before
pick-up

*Notes:** The build of the boat was not up to the Class standards of the
time of construction.  There is significant rot found in the supporting
structure that needs to be addressed. Includes trailer.*

*Notes:** There is significant damage from the rudder head on the aft deck.
The damage at the rudder plate needs repair. There was corrosion found in

*Notes:** The boat has had its running rigging updated from the original
and is in good condition for its age. The mast needs some work and the
traveler needs reinforcing or replacement before sailing. Includes trailer*

*Notes:** A good amount of hull and topside minor repairs are needed. The
hull/keel support system is new. The mast needs repairs prior to launching.

*Notes:** The hull is in very good shape and the reinforcement grid has
been replaced. The traveler should be either reinforced or replaced.  The
mast has a repair made to it that was as a result of a crack that typically
occurred from this time period. The repair appears to be good and no
obvious recurrence of the crack was observed .Includes trailer*

*Notes:** The boat will need a good amount of repair work and the mast
shows signs of corrosion. The keel reinforcement adds to the value, but she
has had her class certificate revoked and needs to be brought back into
compliance before being able to race. Includes trailer.*
